Romance in the digital age can be nuanced

In case you missed it, here’s everything we published for Digital Culturist // Issue 6: Digital Romance.

Netflix and Chill by Dustin d’Arnault

Before texting and Tinder, romance was navigated by awkwardly deciphering body language and other physical signs/signals. Today, technology presents romance with many more intangible, unspoken rules and nuances than ever before. With Digital Culturist // Issue 6, we wanted to explore those nuances and how they affect the way we navigate the institutions of love, sex, dating, and relationships in the modern age.

With this journey through digital romance, we learned that technology could possibly endanger procreation; that people are more likely to ask random strangers for sexual advice than their loved ones; that there is a positive side to online dating; that it is possible to find love in a virtual reality; and that digital anonymity can be a toxic factor for some in the LBGTQ community.

Needless to say, we published some really well written, thought-provoking pieces that you should check out and share if you haven't already.

We would like to thank all the writers who contributed to this issue, your pieces turned out fantastic. We couldn’t have done it without you! We’d also like to thank the Medium Staff for hand-picking and featuring a few of our articles. We greatly appreciate the support and encouragement to keep publishing meaningful pieces.

As always, thank you, the audience, for your support.
